YETNA APMASKEMA: ‘ANCESTRAL MANIFEST OF EVIL POISON’-CD 2013-PARAGUAY-8 TRACKS.-

As usual from the previous releases, the band takes us to the most morbid corners of the human mind. Tracks are worked mainly as the classic rhythms of death metal, combining perfectly with black metal topics, without losing the death metal borders. Structures did not change from their main band MASTER OF CRUELTY. It is so similar because the main composer and vocals is the same. So the similarity is big. However, the minimal difference makes this work 100% to devour. I ask myself if everything is already created and I think yes. The band is similar to SADISTIC INTENT, MORTEM, ATOMIC AGGRESSOR, with unique touches that turns it into one of the best PARAGUAYAN DEATH METAL. YETNA APMASKEMA honors death metal. It’s a poem for hell. Each song is an opus for the unknown and morbid. It has everything: morbid and fast riffs, brutal solos, growl vocals; but the most important is that it keeps the true magic of the beginning of 80s death metal. It’s death metal with occultist and satanic topics. An album that is great if we realize it is the album debut. Magnificent from the beginning to the end………………………………………………………………………………………………………………7.8/10

IMPURITY: ‘BONFIM MORITURI MORTIVIS’-CD 2012- 10 TRACKS.-

Who does not know these diabolic entities, which have been destroying the minds of maniacs of obscure primal Brazilian black metal? It has a sound clearly influenced by old glories from Brazil, HOLOCAUSTO/SARCOFAGO/INSULTER, mixed with the ROSS BAY cult BLASPHEMY, CORPSE MOLESTATION and the first releases of BEHERIT and IMPALED NAZARENE. This CD takes back the noise that evokes total destruction of mankind and Christian scum. This band is been in battle for more than 25 years, spreading black pest with excellent albums as LAMBS OF FURY or INTO THE RITUAL CHAMBER, true masterpieces of South American Black Metal. Maybe this band already has the WAR/BLACK Metal sound, before BLASPHEMY released its first demo. Since the beginning, this release takes you to raw and fast War Metal, with few riffs but fast between CORPSE MOLESTATION/BLASPHEMY and obviously the trademark of the band with cuts and serpent rough vocals that vomit the hymns for Satan. Second song, “SABAT” is without doubt a masterpiece of Brazilian sound. It has a beginning that reminds HOLOCAUSTO. It’s a heavy song, mid tempo, much doom; with few riffs. It has the atmosphere that is gonna take you back to the 80s, the beginning of Brazilian scene. It’s among the best. REIGN OF DEATH, CRUELTY IN THE REIGN OF GOD follows the patterns of the first song. Fat with few rhythm changes, extreme violence in the style of IMPURITY (first releases)/BLASPHEMY with stops and atmosphere. NO FUCKING RESURRECTION is a simple song with rhythms more in hardcore style. Maybe it reminds IMPALED NAZARENE from the first LP. THE EXCOMMUNICATION takes to the mind SARCOFAGO/CELTIC FROST in heavy and change rhythms from both bands. It is a gem if you like to evoke ancient glories. This band has not lost the sound that made them to be cult. They hold high the flame of Black Metal. This is not the best album of the band, but takes the exact dose of energy, extreme dose of brutality that anybody needs. It’s an explosion of pure South American noise inspired in elder glories. A CD made art, in design, cover, production and music; which is the important thing. It’s a cult that should not leave its status. Good work……………………………………………………………………….7.7./10

IMPALEMENT : ‘CEREMONIAL TORMENT’-PERU- CD 2014-16 TRACKS.-

For those that are in PERU, this band is symbol of being the unique band, playing death metal in European style that has existed here in this country. For those who did not hear to it, it is a mixture of NIHILIST, TRIBULATION, MACRODEX and late 80s bands and early 90s bands; exclusively European in its noise. To be honest, this band is synonym of quality, extremism, pure old school death metal, with guitars not with too much quality, but powerful. The riffs are among those that made us to feel passion, those played by the Swedish; they are obvious in each song. They bet in all their releases to give us that feeling that only true death metal hordes can play; without trends or freshness. CD is well produced. It includes different eras from this band, since demos, to 2 live songs never released before. It is a whiplash in the head of every lover of death metal. It has 16 songs of hate, darkness, morbidity and quality band that know how to execute the instruments in the most proper ways. Drums are usual on this death metal with mid speed tempos, growls vocals, hard passages; where morbid rhythms increases and simplicity of solos gave priority to melody than virtuosity of a solo. Anyway, it is a great work from a good band, which is in on hold, but not dead, because any time they join, they go up the stage. Get this Cd if possible, you won’t be disappointed………………………………………………………………………………………………………..7.6/10

TUNJUM: ‘SAGRADO TIEMPO DE CAOS’- PERU-CD 2014- 5 TRACKS.-

Each day I realize more women involved in the underground Metal and this is something excellent when they play music, edit zines and produce shows. It is the case of TUNJUM, a band led by CLARA, who also makes an excellent zine, which shows their thoughts and what to be a women means, inside a musical style filled with men. So, her idea is closer to bands like MYTHIC; without doubt her maximum inspiration. I think this band changed the world for CLARA. In each song is clear the extreme influence of this great North American band. The difference is about the topics. It is influenced from the bloody Peruvian culture, los MOCHES. It turns the music something like death/pagan metal, with simple mid tempo rhythms, even close to doom, using growls like MYTHIC. This release is an EP that from the beginning to the end goes across the death metal path. A true death metal, without innovations or modern sounds just pure noise from 90s. It is clean with heavy and simple rhythms, with rawness that take us to the essence of death metal, as it born and should kept. Here is no extreme brutality, no fastness; that is another style which in my opinion, death metal as I knew it, does not exist. This release is the revelation of Peruvian death metal. Not because it is made by women, with the support of AEX from GRAVE DESECRATION. The conception and topics, songs construction, are strictly born in the head of this great female banger. Attention!  I don’t search for virtuosity when I hear a new material. I want a release to make me get vibration, to make me to put once and again and feel all the force of the music. Without energy there is nothing. But this release leaves this energy want. Just the bad side, the release is too shot in my opinion. I would like to get more, even with some more songs it could have be a full length. The good side is the revelation of a good band that follows the basic concepts of DEATH METAL, raw, heavy and dark. CASTIFAS : ‘BLOODLUST AND HATE’-BRA-CD 2015- 8 TRACKS.-

I heard previously a release of this band, “JOURNEY THROUGH THE DARKNESS PATH’ CD”, a couple of years ago. It was a release from 6 years before and did not get me at all, because their simplicity and low quality of the recording. Usually, Black Metal bands need to add some new sound to get my attention and this time it has done it. BLOODLUST AND HATE is an album that keeps tradition about structures and creativity in their songs, and this time improved a lot the quality of recording. At the time to play riffs are slower in comparison to the previous releases, where they sounded like a band desperate to play fast, instead the complexity of the same riffs and loosing quality in execution. This time, the band added this complexity that any Black Metal band wants and has added a kind of Brazilian style, which is trademark in the Brazilian and South American Black Metal bands. The band delayed so much to release an album, almost 16 years later, and this one is 22 years since the beginning. The band changed a lot. Now is more focused in the quality that it offers for the audience. Each song has force, different rhythms from heavy to faster, without being extreme. Beside the various rhythms, it has double pedal in drums, which fits well with the shredder vocals. It is a devastator release for anyone that can hear it. 8 songs in the same style, everything worked in sequence, mid tempo and fast parts with whiplashing riffs and rhythms changes. Good songs with 5 minutes in average; more than the usual current Black Metal bands. Tracks as ´BLOOD LUST AND HATE’, ‘A WORLD OF BONES´, ´KINGDOM OF SATAN’, are among my favorites and they shows that sometimes taking a time between albums give good results. It is a good album that deserves the attention of black metallers from the world………………………………………………………… 7/10.

ANTHARES : ‘ O CAOS DA RAZAO’-BRA-CD 2015- 10 TRACKS.-

For me it’s an honor and pleasure to review this CD because ANTHARES was the first Brazilian band that I contacted in 1986. Back then, they were recording NO LIMITE DA FORCA album; an icon in South American power/thrash. 30 years later they have returned with this new album, almost without changing the essence that made them known. They did not decided to play a fresh Thrash Metal, but to play the basic and traditional Thrash Metal from 80s, not copying this, but playing with true feeling and essence. Maybe it is because the age of the members that they have made a not plastic album. Nothing copying 80s bands, because they are from the 80s and the old spirit still lives here. Each song has those blaster riffs, fast and furious, with high solos in guitars with precision, which I think are the best on this work. Guitars are well worked. In structure, the songs has from fast to mid tempo rhythms, something common in thrash bands, where the basic change is to have added a bit more thrash sound that in 80s. It is the only change. Even if vocals are sung by another vocalist, they keep the style of singing a Thrash Metal in Portuguese, their original language, which gives the sensation to back to the past. This album is a mixture between ANTHARES (old) and RATOS DE PORAO/ “Aracnofobia”. In my opinion an album that takes them back in the way of the great bands. O CAOS DA RAZAO is an album that you will eat since the beginning to the end, because it does not tires you. It keeps the level, adrenaline flows from song to song. It is a great work that hopefully will keep them in the scene for too much time long. …………………8/10

MIASTHENIA: ‘LEGADOS DO INFRAMUNDO-CD 2014-9 TRACKS-BRASIL.-

This album was long waited and finally arrived to my hands, to give thanks to all that I like to listen and knowing about a band that makes clever lyrics, with much knowledge about our ancient and primal cultures, those that are combined with beautiful passages of total PAGAN and mystic music of rituals and ancient dance. This entire put in music of technical skills, rich rhythms, mixed with keyboards well used, giving a gloomy sensation and different atmospheres, turning it theatrical sometimes. Each song has fast doses, intense guitars of variation in riffs, good vocals, sometimes high pitched singing in Portuguese, which is not so common used by Brazilian bands. I think they should use this more frequently because it links well the melody and harmony of the songs. This is the best worked from the previous CDs; the fourth to be exact. All of these with the same topics of Latin-American ancient culture, with strong music which our identity is emphasized. This time the album has MAYA culture topics, they made the same with INCA too, both some of the great civilizations of Latin-America, rich in culture that without doubt gives to this band too much topics in the musical as cultural, making this musical pieces of marvelous art. It is a great album that each banger should get because this work has pure heavy metal solos, s in the song 13, AHAU KATUN, passing from the BACK/PAGAN metal of SAGA AO XIBALBA. A masterpiece, a conceptual album at 100% that surely is gonna be on my top to listen each morning. …………………………………………………………..8.5/10

DEFORMITY : ‘ENDLESS ATROCITY’-COSTA RICA –CD 2013- 9 TRACKS.-

I cannot stop listen this band, since it arrives as a gift from a friend that knows very well my tastes. I have almost left DEATH METAL because I felt the occultist and obscure feeling was left aside instead of death/grind without sense. There were some bands that I still listen like ASPHIX, MORGOTH, MALEVOLENT CREATION, SUFFOCATION, because I listened to these since early 90s; later the style went down. My friend gave me again the wish to listen this style and sent me a good band. Since the first song it tied me to its sound which is a mixture between ASPHIX/MORGOTH in vocals and MEAT SHITS in intros and fast parts; also in some vocals parts and guitar rhythms. Since the first strike is a bullet straight to the head. It has ultra-fast drums, criminal vocals and total heaviness. Double vocals are brutal and fit well in the rhythms, which are simple but really keeps the spirit of extreme death/grind Metal and pure Death Metal, without narrowing in one style only. Guitar solos are more for decoration, instead of showing musical skills, which does not need. Song title that has the same than CD title is well done. AGONIZING, the second song has from both worlds, pure DEATH/GRIND; that is what I was expecting. Vocals, growl and death metal fits perfectly. Blast beat drums are from a putrid band. Riffs have changes from mid tempo to doom, to fast and honestly bestial. PLEASURE OF MISCARRIAGE, another missile, the same as the second song, even with more DEATH METAL riffs, a la ASPHIX/CANCER. It’s a great masterpiece of how death/grind should be played, without the monotony of many current bands, that made those that started with traditional death metal, left to listen the new bands because of the bands don’t showing the pure and honest feeling of death metal. Following songs go in the same musical style. Without fear to get an error, each time I listen Costa Rica bands, I realize there are much quality that we should explore to enter deep on that scene. It’s a great production. It’s a surprising band in this scene full of copycats.  ……………………………………………………………………………………...7.5/10

SAVAGE AGGRESSION: ‘SATAN’S STRIKE’-CD 2013-11 TRACKS-COLOMBIA:

It was long time since I don’t listen a Thrash Metal band without stop. I have 2 days listening this cursed work and does not bores me, does not stresses me, does not takes me to sleep; something unusual in the current tons of clones bands that exist. Even being an old school Thrash, it is rich in rhythms and riffs, strong in excess that makes each track in some glorious Metal dose that should be eaten carefully to don’t get down. Each song is well played, with rhythms changes, a thrasher guitar in the old German style, hard riffs, a skilled drums cutting like a bomb and vocals like a mixture between SCHMIER and BOBBY “BLITZ”. Would you ask for more? In my opinion the best from both scenes: German and North American, with a mixture of Latin power that makes this release among the best I listened in Thrash Metal in the last years. It has passed long time in which Colombia did not show me good bands as WITCHTRAP, METAL KING and REVENGE, which unleashed time ago their artillery. Now Savage AGRESSION takes the leadership from their godfathers WITCHTRAP, taking them aside from the top of Colombian Thrash Metal. The Cd carries again that mosh of the old school. If we speak about mosh, the first song has riffs like the first MEGADETH. Later starts the discharge of violent thrash, intense of pure life from SCREAM OF DEATH. It has typical choruses of thrash bands, continuing whiplashing your body, double pedals in mid tempo with good solos, bends and hand topping. Very good job. THRASH COMMAND continues with the same intensity and good work in guitars. SATAN’S STRIKE is the song I like the most. It’s amazing, giving priority for the vocals with that shout in the end of the sentence. All songs are in the Black/Thrash for the lyrics side and musically is strictly Thrash Metal in its great essence. This is an album that rescues the old essence and does not leave anything aside. Well worked, changes with precision, not too much rhythms changes, but intense and fast. Another song for the thrash maniacs is THRASH METAL ATTACK. Highly recommended………………………………………………………….. 8.3/10

OPHICVS: ‘ÁZREVER NE ALEMAMAN’-CD 2015-12 TRACKS-COLOMBIA:

Since few time ago it started to appear many bands in the black n Roll style, as SABAT and METALUCIFER from Japan, adding obscure and satanic lyrics; porn, lust, alcohol and drugs. A street and rock n roller Black Metal. In South America we already have WHIPSTRIKER that combines so well the Punk/Heavy n roll, PROFANE from Paraguay with its Death n Roll style, ATOMIC ROAR and POWER FROM HELL, closer to what Ophicvs shows in its lyrics. Band is formed by a member of LUCERA, another well Colombian Black n Roll band. This work let me satisfied since the first song “CAOS LATEMORCEM”, which gets to my mind BARBATOS/SABBAT with a mid tempo traditional Rock n Roll/Heavy, catchy riffs and classical Heavy Metal shouts in vocals. It also has an interesting solo that fits well in the song, to the video bonus which includes satanic porn film scenes. Going to the music side, which obviously is what I liked more, because the mixing of the music styles I like. But let’s start with the songs that this work gets. MARCH TO THE ETERNAL FIRE has a sound closer to Norwegian Black Metal in mid tempo riffs. WHORE OF BABYLON in the style of METALUCIFER/MIDNIGHT, in mid tempo and 80s Heavy Metal sound with solos and tremolo in some parts, good song. “BLACKOUT”, is a cover of Scorpions, well played with 80s style, with stronger vocals, obviously and arrangements as the original version. MOTHER DEATH has a 90s Norwegian BLACK METAL style, strong, with typical high vocals and in mid tempo. It also includes raw and hard Heavy Metal. It’s an interesting song because the solo that shows virtuosity of classical Metal, without losing force. The rest of songs are in the same style. A trademark that turns them in a new band that many metalheads should have in mind to increase their collection. The bonus track is one that many will adore, “CONDOR LEGION”, that also has a musical structure in the 80s style of the American wave, with those changes to Speed rhythms. Is an excellent work that made this song one of my favorites in the CD. Worth to mention, the CD comes with a bonus video with satanic porn scenes for the lust of male public, hahaha!!!! Good job……………………. 7.4/10

MASS HYPNOSIA: ‘PROMO 2015’-PHILLIPINES- 4 TRACKS- : The south of Asia… since I heard the first band from that side of the world it stills surprising me. I found it similar to South american scene. It gets passion and force at the time of play their instruments, with strong riffs and blaster rythms, not for weak ears. Since HERETIC ANGELS I did not hear something good. It is a Thrash/Death Metal (more in the old school thrash ways), inspired in the German sound with their own dose. It is a straight Thrash without doubts, dirty and direct as the old Kreator. This band is precisely based on this style in vocals, like Mille. It has fast rythms and proper breakdowns as a great level band. Music is perfect for the stage diving and breaking heads. It is like a mixture between Kreator – Terrible Certainty and Extreme Aggression, plus touches of Heretic Angels (South East Thrash /Death GODS!!). What more can you want? 4 tracks of unstopping mosh that any thrasher should lost! Great work………………………………………. 7.6/10

TEMPLE OF KHATARSIS: ‘CD-R DEMO 2014’-GREECE-3 TRACKS.- Wonderful, the only one word I can think when listening the present demo that left me static in my chair for a while. The band sound takes me do a trip to back to the first years of the Greek scene and nowadays without fear to be wrong I can say that this scene is stronger than ever. With bands that have not changed its essence in the least that follow a pattern, a sound that makes them 100% owner, mainly they have maintains a high musical standard, with high quality interpretive, with an impressive quality of riffs and arrangements of their tracks simply awesome. The tracks are developed to be short, with only a few rhythm changes, something usual in bands of this caliber. In each track you are find some rhythm changes so precise, accurate, is done at the right moment, As Usually the greek bands we have accustomed. The vocals parts are raw without to be guttural or gore, something that they can be proud is the fact that their vocalist sings loud, heavy, raw and harsh without being death metal without being guttural or black metal, unique form of sings signed by the Greeks. The music can be catalogue as a mixture of ZEMIAL, VARATHRON, DUNKEL and LORD IMPALER TEMPLE OF KHATARSIS…. A unique combination and perfect, but I only hope to be able to ride in my hands the debut album of this great band that I was immersed in the anguish of achieve more and more… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … ..8.8 /10 templeofkatharsis@hotmail.com

NECROPHOR: ‘VERBUM VEXILLIFER’-CD-R DEMO 2013-SWEDEN-3 TRACKS.- First work of this novel Swedish band that follows in the tradition of playing a great death metal of very high quality as we have accustomed the bands that comes from that cold country. a death metal music that transcends the barriers of VIKING, and STONER DOOM metal with notable melodies that transport us to the best that we have heard of bands of this great country of long history within the global metal scene. NECROPHOR faithful to this style the band wants to reach with this work to be inserted within the death metal elite. The 3 tracks are worked in the same way, with very similar structures one after the other, sometimes one may think that it is the continuation of the tracks but it is not, it is the style that uses the band that makes it to transgress the boundaries of death metal with a new sound and vigorous, fresh but with the quality that Sweden has accustomed us. NECROPHOR: ‘THE EYE OF TERROR’- CD-R DEMO 2014’-SWEDEN-3 TRACKS.- This is definitely a band that follows the same path from his previous work and the word evolution is only written in its dictionary how to modify a few arrangements more does not change in essence and that I was demonstrated in this work of very high quality. In general we have grown accustomed to the Swedish bands without making a too technical death metal. All of them have the necessary power that immerses you in the depths of your thoughts and dreams with these riffs and rhythms perfectly positioned. In difference to his previous work, this is more heavy and dense rhythms media doom/death passing by the stoner and touching the borders of the style that makes its neighbors of ENSLAVED. The tracks are not elaborated with very little change of pace, but with the character enough to tell you like from the first riff. It does not have intros of arpeggios as its first work but rather the heaviness is more noticeable here. The 3 tracks are a very good source of power for those who are accustomed to the Viking death and needs of those doses of hard metal to breathe. CHAOS SYNOPSIS: ‘ART OF KILLING’-CD 2013-BRAZIL-10 TRACKS: In previous issues I’ve had the opportunity to review the ‘GARDEN OF FORGOTTEN SHADOWS’- CD-R and the first album of them called ‘KULT OF DEMENTIA’. And without doubt the band present us a big evolution to previous works, and have made great steps in their musical evolution , But in my personal point of view they have lost certain sound underground to give a breath to modern DEATH METAL. Clearly a death metal more crude to be more or soft. ‘ART OF KILLING’ is a great work with very good recording sound, where each track have perfect combinations of parts fast, death metal riffs that join in very good guitars solo’s, Giving lessons of how can be mixed a conventional death metal, brutal death metal and new technical death metal, as well should I call to a current which is more that just as this band you have added these touches of fresh rhythms that other bands of metal music that is not death metal have, thus changing the aesthetics of the tracks. CHAOS SYNOPSIS, is a typical DEATH METAL band in essence, much more modern than usual death metal bands with high level of professionals who know where they want to be as a band and this album I think that the catapult more in the top of the bands that usually the common mean you want to hear. The tracks are all without exception have great develop of their musicians, all are playing perfectly, and gives the listeners the perception of being a European or North American band without any problem, but In my point of view they have loss mysticism of pure death metal as must sound…Nowadays the mainly of bands are trying only to improve but they diverge from the primal sound, perhaps the old guys don't let our music that we started to go beyond ... perhaps… This is for the new generation of Death metal bangers …A work that rises in quality but loses in meaning underground… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … …7/10

GUMO MANIACS: ‘OUT OF DISORDER’ 2014-CD-GERMANY-10 TRACKS. -For a while I thought about of this new wave of thrash metal which imposed bands such as MUNICIPAL WASTE, VIOLATOR among other had standing, because I was a blow to the head to know that again was with that current circulating through all the arteries of the metal music. Basically the music is no different to what has been done by MUNICIPAL WASTE with the exception of some riffs that are more developed, with best rhythms that lead to sound more thrash sometimes than hardcore stuff, but it’s crossover in the concept. Also, on the way of singing which is very similar of it made for SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, A.O.D, etc. Classic mid-80’s bands. The whole tracks were written under the same root, typical rhythms singing into crossover thrash and limited time of action, all are eaten from beginning to end and I know that all followers of this style will be more than pleased to have this new work from this band circulating everywhere. To be their 3rd album is a good work. I would like to have heard the first albums but did not even... thrashers are required to have it...7.2/10

MIST: ‘DEMO 2013-CD-PRO VERSION: 2 TRACKS-SLOVENIA: For a While a band didn’t miss the doom metal that I’ve listened by the early 80 's years, and what a coincidence that I stumbled upon with this very good band of excellent SLOVENIAN doom metal staffed entirely by women. They are demonstrating that you do not have to be depressive to launch a work totally based on heaviness and in the way of lyrics is far from those terms that today the bands usually write over sorrow, depression, This is pure doom metal in the old school of BLACK SABBATH, COVEN, PENTAGRAM, ST VITUS…wonderful bands that led to the heavy/Doom to another level, And they are without doubt the most frequently applied students. The demo 7" contains: PHOBIA and LIVING DEAD tracks both with the same musical performance, with high level interpretive where the heavy riffs and changes to half time make the tracks hold out a lot of time in your head. The vocal parts are the height of a doom metal band are powerful and rhythmic, nothing of treble, is more deep and heavy. Each track have the typical structure of all the doom metal bands, this usually starts well heavy and slow and as they are passed the seconds change to half time and returns to its original heaviness.. the changes are not monotonous are well achieved at the just time. These girls have been studied very well the concept of doom to get to this work. Without being a wonder is the best at this time that refreshes the doom scene today… a great work… … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … … ….---------------------------------------------------------8/10

AGGRESSIVE MUTILATOR: ‘THEY WANT TO CUT OFF MY HEAD’ DEMO 2013-SWEDEN-6 TRACKS: This is a band very different from these bands that comes from SWEDEN. Where the mainly of bands play a classic death metal worked very well, with clean sounds and riffs often majestic and in the way of black metal is no different than its bands also provide many magnificent encounters between death metal with black metal making their work masterpieces ....This is not the case with this band that the truth has not done a job for nothing memorable but not so bad. It just not something that leaves a trace in the way of black metal. Musically the band brings with simple riffs and easy to implement, that goes from the punk/hardcore until the common and known to all, a simple Black metal. The rhythms are between 3.4 and 5 in all its tracks by making easy to listening. The best tracks for my taste for best execution and quality of work in riffs are BLOODY HUNGER that has a principle of good design in heavy music with good work in conception, And the track namesake of demo that has very heavy parts combining with fast and interesting raw vocals, typical old school Black metal... it reminded me a bit to EVOKED DOOM band in the mid 80's.. The tracks are short no more than 3 minutes…. If you are listening to bands of this type with sound raw and savage of the 80 's, this demo is for you… … … … … … … … … … … …6.5 /10

LVCYFIRE INTERVIEW

1.- When speaking of the English bands, the first thing that comes to mind are great names of metal such as: CRADLE OF FILTH, ONSLAUGHT, SABBAT, GRIM REAPER. Then the heavy metal legends as: JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN. All of them have leaving a great legacy into metal music. With all these names, what wants to give LUCIFYRE as sound and attitude as band to leave of legacy the future generations of metal? We never thought about next generation when we were creating. Our source is ancient so to be honest we feel like we are wakeing something primordial, awakening from long sleep the death and madness. Our goal on that case is to rise the Apocalypse, so there is no future. 2.-Speaking of bands, is difficult to find in the English metal scene BLACK/DEATH bands, it is not usual, LUCIFYRE is like a mole on top of a completely white body. Has it been difficult to create when playing find shows with bands of your style? How has been the response of the English media and the bangers for the sound of the band? With our style it is hard to not be alienated and to start with non of us is true English Man, we are all coming from different parts of the world, Poland, Portugal and Cyprus. So far we had very poor interest in here between the media and maniacs but things are seems to bee a little bit improving since our second offering "Sun Eater" is officially out. English scene never been so agressive since Adorior's "Author of Incest" but now i think we bring that to change and there is even more wrath behind it. 3.-The last great band I’ve heard and it is going by the style of LUCIFYRE band is ADORIOR (gods!). T. kAOS your being also member of this great Horde, What were your thoughts When you create LUCIFYRE? Do you think I am missing something in the creative part of ADORIOR that you want to carry out with LUCIFYRE? Wildness, Darkness and Wrath will be my unholy trio to ride Lvcifyre chariot. I want our music to be faster and as destructive as nuclear explosion wave. I could become what inside me for a while once i was riding under Adorior wings but there was a massive limits for me also since we had a problem to agree on songs structure riffs and arrangments so I dont think that there is anything to carry from Adorior , but it will be my style of playing that could bring similarity on mind.

4.- 3 members of the band belong to well known bands such as ADORIOR, NECROSADIST, ENTHRONED… How do you do with the rehearse times and live shows? Can LUCIFYRE be considered a parallel band? Im not involved anymore into Adorior ,last thing i did with them was show on Nuclear War Now to support Black Gods Blasphemy. Now Lvcifyre got all my focus. Menthor is very active with Enthroned so we share the drummer, as for Necrosadist at the moment it is more recording only band, there is no regular rehearsals on live activity, so no collision. 5.- In the creative and musical parts How do you do to try to create an own sound and does not have to sound similar to that or other bands of members of LUCIFYRE? LVCIFYRE is very solid monument that took his own path as a more organic/spiritual Consciousness that become to life once we channel with each other and few times we tried to design the sound for Lvcifyre but it was always rejected by His might and different path been choose, it is still follow our idea but in different textures ,more morbid and organic, the Living Death. 6.- The name of the band can be confused with LUCIFER. Do you have some questions such as those on the way by parts of bangers and media? Why did you choose this name? I feel more like this name choose us, its strike me with very strong impulse on one unexpected day, out of nowhere and i knew that this is it. Name starts haveing much more sens with time once we start to cultivate the power we raise. it is a Lucifer's Fire, Transcendental flame of black illumination, a formula of progress and gates into Dark Night of Soul. 7.-How often helped to the band to get a contract, the fact that the members belong to big names in the world death/black metal? I believe that it could be helpful if you play in the big band, but i believe that we manage to captured raw and dark atmosphere on "Dying Light of God" and Rodrigo got attracted by this and he offer us later on to release the full length which in the end had really poor promotion and we got not as much attention as we thought we will. Menthor played in Corpus Christi and i played in Adorior but they not a big names, this is still underground and Adorior had chance to play only very few shows, i mean people know the "Author of Incest" but thats when it starts and where its ends. Corpus Christi played lots of shows in the past but still non of this bands had big reputation like Blasphemy or Morbid Angel so Lvcifyre did not gain from our past but from our skills and visionary.

8-'DYING LIGHT OV GOD' their first EP, it was introduced in the underground circuit, this work is basically a death/black metal, dark and morbid work, how would you define it in a musical aspect waged speaking to previous works in his other bands? I will define exactly like you did Dark and Morbid work. There is something i really like about this EP , i can feel the purity of wrath, the young fire, the birth of devil child that now transform into monstrous might,the Proclamator of Black Messiah. So again i dont wont to ride on feedback from previous bands or extend their style to the next band, as for me they are nowhere near of Lvcifyre, dont get me wrong ,they are great band but very different.Black and Death Metal has same firmaments which is manifestation of our shadow emerged from our unconciousness. This specific sonic kind or style was created to praise Dark God/deities. I always was focusing and creating only within this style so i could not go for hard core crap like Decapitated or any other shit. We always learn and progress( some of us very slowly, they are waste) and i believe that through our journey we gain from situations that we were put on,so if i look back and compare my first true creation which Hodur- "Salve Satanas" to Adorior's "Author of Incest" you can hear similarity in way of playing a specially in Adorior's Iron Blood which almost entaierly belong to me. I think i learn something from Adorior so are they, now they could see a bit clearer what kind of playing fits them the best and i immerse under shadow of Lvcifyre. 9.-If you could to chose a track of this work to be known on this side of the world, would it be and why? Dying Light of God, why ,hm... Malign Cunt is showing more developed face of Lvcifyre style , so i will go reverse to return to morbid and primeval forms , the very uncontrolled ones,violent and evil. 10.-Listening to this work is basically DEATH/BLACK metal in the vein of the 90's with a fresh sound something like intermediate BEHEMOTH with the sound of bands such as DIABOLIC and SUMMON. I had the chance to read some reviews of the media and all of them calls to us like the new BEHEMOTH’s. Do you not have fear that they stereotype to the band or put them as a copy of that band? Would that they say to the media who thinks that band are followers of BEHEMOTH? Behemoth is massive band, mainstream Death Black Metal if you could say that, I'm not a follower of the band.Perhaps is the region where I and Nergal grow up, we are coming from the same city and i know him for years, maybe there is something in the water, something that i cannot hear, for me Lvcifyre is nowhere near Behemoth, but I'm not the one to judge.People need to classify, it's easier for them ,otherwise they will have to work out something new and to be honest so many been done. We are constantly compare to Morbid Angel,Immolation,early Vader and Behemoth, but that's not a problem thought. 11.-'THE CALLING DEPTHS', the last work does not change much of your first work. The music goes along the same way, with some improvements in composition doing a job more complete and complex. Tell us about this work in composition? Which were the influences?. How did you start this work in composition? When i meet Menthor we start working on this hard from the very begininng ,lots of rehearsals, few times a week.We were just keep writing lots of materials ,then we choose the best parts and start focusing on those.I dont remember if any bands were our inspiration i mean i love and respect true Death and Black Metal, but i dont think that there was any copy of whatever been done in past by other. We just been natural and honest.That i think is the best reciepie for any music. 12-Let's talk of something of your lyrics, with some suggestive titles like 'THE CALLING DEPTHS', SUCCUBI, is not difficult to think of a knowledge of dark literature as H.P LOVECRAFT, EDGAR ALLAN POE, etc... for inspiration to time of compose the lyrics, there’s a pre-work of literature or failing there are horror films? Or is something natural of morbid minds and insanity? What so important is ideological and defined path and with extensive knowledge of the black arts? Everything that express Darkness or shadow within get my antention , I think what is important is awakening and accaptance of Darkness within us , not castrating and running away.I admire LHP by Kenneth Grant, i think what he did for this path without patholgy or "grey evil" is truly inspiring. Of course Lovecraft is also the one i will own forever for knowledge he offer to us. Lvcifyre become a platform to me where i could present my experiences in that specific subjects and i think that everyone could see this differently since spiritual path is very private thing.

13.-Demonology is a thematic usually for you. I say that , for the case of track title ‘SUCCUBI’. The band members are followers or belong to some Satanic sect? Not to my knowledge. 14.-BLOOD HARVEST RECORDS, is a label that lately this launching some great hordes of black/death metal, example has ATOMIC CURSE and MASTER OF CRUELTY among others. How Did you contract with them? What was the main difficult dealings with the record label? There was not difficulties from Blood Harvest,Rodrigo did his job exactly as we agreed. Pulverized release CD with massive delay, that was more of concern to us by then. 15.-Your first Lp came out 2 years ago, What news we have in terms of new tracks and musical composition work, knowing that LUCIFYRE is a very technical band. What news additions are using on the tracks? We rehearse a lot,so our style progress ,become more focused and darker, probably less technical on guitar but more demanding on other instruments and vocals. Fruit of that work could be heard on our new album "Sun Eater". 16.-Speaking of music technic, Many people think that the majority of musicians of this genre do not have knowledge about it. For my taste the metal music, progressive and jazz, Is the trident of the music, with great talented musicians in the musical spectrum. Speaking as musicians, What kind of musical studies have you had? I never study music only the sound engineering for while but Menthor ,our drummer study music on full time and he got totally absorbed by Jazz and classical. 17.-A questions in the context of metal but out of the context of the band. What do you think about of a course of heavy metal that gives a University of England? What are your impressions about it? The movment in 80's was one of most important within the genre in UK but non of this were my favorite bands so it means nothing to me. I'm more into what happen later when Thrash,Black and Death Metal become to life. 18- If someone wants to go for first time to your show. What can expect from this?
